Driffield’s Southwood Park one of

The bricks and mortar is long gone and the sales team is preparing to shut up shop at one of East Yorkshire’s most popular new home locations of the past 10 years.

Southwood Park, a 65-house development by Peter Ward Homes on the south western edge of Driffield, has just four homes left to sell – and one of those is already reserved.

The development has remained high on the shopping list of new home buyers throughout the recent decline in the housing market. Peter Ward, managing director of Beverley-based Peter Ward Homes, said: “Southwood Park has been a hugely popular site from the start. Its proximity to Driffield and the excellent services the town provides, coupled with the easy access to the East Yorkshire countryside and links to Hull, York and Leeds, make this an ideal base for single people, young families and retirement couples.”

Southwood Park soon became popular with homebuyers eager to take advantage of the wide range of homes on offer. At one point, the developer was marketing nine different house designs, a range of choice not readily available elsewhere. Prices too remained closely linked to the market conditions.

Peter Ward said: “We were determined to create a development that contained not only a broad selection of homes to suit most families’ needs but also at prices that suited people’s budgets. This was especially key during the past year or so when many families’ home buying plans were adversely affected by the recession.

“Southwood Park is indicative of what good, mid-range housing developments should offer – a wide range of house types, prices to suit most pockets and no over-development. Let the site and its residents breath and enjoy the open space.”

The handful of properties still available at Southwood Park includes two two-bedroom town houses, one at £114,950 and the other at £119,950, and one three-bedroom semi detached at £134,950. For further information on these, telephone the sales team on 01377 255724 or the company’s main office on 01482 861484.

Award-winning Peter Ward Homes celebrated its 30th anniversary last year and is also developing sites at Hornsea (Rawsons Green), Goole (Captains Close) and Immingham (Habrough Fields).
