East Yorkshire house builder, Peter Ward Homes, has reported signs of a genuine revival in the region’s residential property market.

The company, currently building new homes at three sites in East Yorkshire and one south of the river, says figures from their sales teams show the demand for new properties is on the increase.

Managing Director Peter Ward said this week: “Our sites at Hornsea (Rawsons Green), Goole (Captains Close) and Beeford (High Garth), plus our big development at Habrough Fields, near Immingham, are all reporting good visitor numbers, indicating there are plenty of people out there who want to either move home or get on to the housing ladder.

“Our job as one of the region’s leading house builders is to make it possible and with that in mind we have added to our range of buyer incentives in the hope that we can help our buyers realise their dreams.

“Clearly, for most people looking to buy a new home two of the most important factors are the mortgage and the deposit – how much can we borrow and how much will it cost?

“After that, it’s a case of ‘How much cash – if any – will we have left to buy the furniture we need, or to pay the house move bills?’

“These questions are crucial to the decision-making process for so many people, especially first-time buyers. It’s alright

“With that in mind we’ve launched a generous cash back arrangement which will see us putting cash back in to the hands of the buyer. We will have to assess each situation on its own merits and the arrangement will be subject to certain conditions.

Peter added: “There are signs that we are heading for a much more vibrant housing market in East Yorkshire - we know that from the increasing number of visitors to our sites at Hornsea, Goole and Beeford – but we must still do our bit to help. There are plenty of first-time buyers waiting to enter the property market and we intend to do as much as possible to help them.

“For example, we are now offering Part Exchange or Cash Back along with incentives for Armed Forces. There is also an Assisted Sales Scheme, through which we will pay our buyer’s estate agent’s fees, and further help for first-time buyers.”
